If you are really concerned about the
popularity of your blog, featuring the same and boring free images in
your blog is not an option any more. What most bloggers are accustomed
to do is to browse for some images in Google image search and then save
some of them on their PCs to be used later but, this is in fact other
name of stealing. However, most of the bloggers seem to have turned a
blind eye to it and the tradition thus continues. But believe me, using
the same images over and over again is not going to work anymore. To add
more value to your blog, you need to find some quality images but this
is not that much easy despite the easy availability of stock photography
sites like iStock, GettyImages etc. There are some other issues
involved like pricing, uniqueness etc. Here in this article, we are
going to have a closer look at it so that you can make better decision
when it comes to posting images in blog posts:
Pricing: Stock images
do not come for free. However if you are not after exclusive rights,
stock images is not going to put pressure on your pocket too much. There
are two payment methods available. One is “Pay Аѕ Уου Gο” plan and
another one is subscription based. Pay Аѕ Уου Gο is the best option for
causal bloggers with no such fascination for using images whereas
“Subscription based plan” is best for those who are rather interested in
posting images very often. In the first plan, you will need to buy some
credits and each time, you download some images, credit amount will be
deducted from it.; whereas in the case with “Subscription based payment”
method, you will be charged for a month or yearly basis. However, there
are discount coupon codes available on some popular stock photography
sites like – Getty Images, iStockphoto, Jupiterimages etc that can help
you reduce your expenditure to a great extent.
Licensing: You need to
understand that you cannot use stock images with standard licensing for
commercial purpose. Its usage is largely limited to website, blog etc.
So, if you want to use some images for promotional and commercial
purpose, you will have to go for the extended licensing. However, as
obvious, extended licensing will cost more than standard one. So, before
you start using images in your blog, you need to come clear on this
licensing thing.
Uniqueness: If you are
adamant that your chosen image should not be used by other bloggers, you
might have to pay a huge amount as this involves getting hold of
exclusive rights. However, you can still expect getting hold on some
images that are rarely used by other bloggers. All you need to do to
spend some time on searching and you will be able to find genuine images
from the vast collection of images. Take your time and you will be able
to find some cool images to be used on your next series of blog posts
for sure.
Innovative: Rather than
going for the same easily available images, we suggest using images
that do add value to your website. You can add some touches of
uniqueness by fusing two or three images and sometimes, they can lead to
a completely new image, adding new dimension to the whole thing. Give
this technique a try, and you will have a better world to live.
